New teams or teams looking for an inspiring way to build trust.

Objective:

Length:

Group size:

Perfect for:

The Giving Notes Project strengthens group chemistry through an objective in service of someone else. Your team will learn creativity through trial-and-error and risk-taking, and build trust through a process that relies on empathy and vulnerability.

Built on research that shows psychological safety as the top indicator of super-effective teams, GNP uses songwriting to engage teams in a fun and meaningful process to create a story for one or more members.

Through a guided discussion with a seasoned songwriter, your group will build the words, phrases, and lyrics that turn into a song. You’ll end the day listening to the performance over food and drink.

Bones & Breakthroughs

Discuss priorities for strategic or group growth in an open environment.

4 hours

5-15

Teams looking for an unconventional way to discuss and reset priorities.

Objective:

Length:

Take your team on a chemistry-building journey that unravels the behaviors, processes, and activities that are roadblocks to the group’s performance and engagement.

In the unique setting of Hollywood Cemetery—one of the most historic and beautiful cemeteries in the United States—your team will follow a map through three experiences that help you unpack what holds you back, what works, and what you need to strengthen the work you do together.

You’ll end the day back at Lost Office in a facilitated discussion of insights and next steps over food and drink.

The Mind Body Creative

Learn sensory science skills that combat fatigue and boost creativity.

4 hours

5-25

Strategy and creative teams looking for a unique way to re-energize minds.

Objective:

Length:

Group size:

Perfect for:

Break your team out of the everyday routine with a half day spent exploring multi-sensory ways to boost creative thinking. From scent, to sound, to movement, we’ll dive into the scientific research behind the mind-body connection with dynamic activities that will leave participants feeling energized, focused, and inspired.

With each activity, your team will learn, experience, and then craft something personal based on the technique.

We’ll end the experience reflecting on the day’s activities over lunch or hors d'oeuvres on the James River if weather permits.

You’ll return to Lost Office from your outing, where our team will help you convert your discoveries into ideas you’ll carry forward into further development.

Outside Thinking

Use outdoor activities to energize thinking around a challenge.

4-8 hours

5-25

Teams looking for a creative way to hold a conversation.

Objective:

Length:

Group size:

Perfect for:

Turn time in the great outdoors into an opportunity for team building around a specific initiative. Studies show that full-body team activities not only fire up our brains, they improve how we interact with each other, leading to more productive thinking and conversations.

Outside Thinking experiences are one part wellness retreat and one part creative problem-solving activity. We use yoga, walks/runs, hikes, and even boat excursions as a funnel for a series of creative exercises designed around your challenge.
